OnePlus-smarthpones get still no support for wireless charging. The technology is currently still not fast enough to be user friendly.
Why OnePlus wireless charging not support
Of the Samsung Galaxy S9 to the iPhone X: more and more high-end smartphones support now wireless charging. Some manufacturers choose, however, the technology is not yet to embrace. Thus, among others, OnePlus never had a wireless rechargeable smartphone released. In a new interview with fans explains Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, explains why that is so.
In a question to which feature OnePlus not yet, but the company would like to add, reply Lau with wireless charging. The ceo would like to smartphones releasing soon, wireless charging “without compromise”, but that is not there yet.
“We have numerous solutions for wireless charging tested, and that we will also continue to test,” says Lau. “At this time we have not found a solution that meets our expectations for speed and convenience requirements. The technology allows for a thicker device that becomes hot during charging.”
Of Dash Charge to Warp ChargeWireless charging is indeed very slow. It takes about two to even three times as long to be a smartphone wireless charging, instead of with a wire. That the devices thicker would make, is a remarkable argument. The OnePlus 6 is almost as thick as, for example, the Samsung Galaxy S8, which does wireless charging supports.
However, it seems that OnePlus has plans in the field of charging technology. The company has recently introduced the brand name “Warp Charge” defined. Speculation is that it is a successor of Dash Charge, the snellaadtechnologie that the company now uses. This is your battery in about a half hour for more than half full. Warp Charge is possible even faster, or can even be the name for a new wireless charging technology where Lau in this interview to hint.
